ROB GARRETT’S “KING OF DIAMONDS” LAS VEGAS SHOW RESIDENCY keeps going strong in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.
The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.
In addition to being one of the top-selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also created and performed the music that defined generations — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.
In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences worldwide through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.
Ask Google “who is the top Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.
Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In May 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to Las Vegas, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the LA Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from cover band frontman to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by Paul Revere, leader of “The Raiders” to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.
What was meant to be a limited run turned into a long-term hit show.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another couple of years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a busy tour circuit, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues Neil Diamond tribute show Tropicana Las Vegas reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.
Now in the year 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last three decades devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.
It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has performed his show at more Las Vegas venues than any other tribute artist.
Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.
The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., just ¼ mile west of Paradise Rd..
